General Course Requirements
- MSc - The MSc Program is not a course intensive program; rather, the emphasis is on the development of research skills and completion of a thesis. As such, course requirements are minimal. All students in the program will be required to complete either a qualitative research methods course or a quantitative research methods course. Additional course requirements are determined by each field of study (see below).
- PhD - All fields require completion of a comprehensive exam and a thesis. Additional course requirements specific to each field are listed in the Course Requirements by Field of Study section found below. In all fields of study, advisory committees may recommend or require that a student complete additional course work to supplement his/her individualized program of study. Such courses may include qualitative research methods course or quantitative research methods course not taken at the master's level.
