Administrative Information

BUILDING ACCESS/KEYS

Elborn College is open 7am to 7pm Mondays to Fridays.  Entry to the building is only available by card access after hours and only by necessity and approval.   If the student requires access to the building after hours, the supervisor must send a written request to Amber Trent who will complete the Building Access Request form. 

If keys are required within Elborn College, approval should be sought by the applicable program office:  Helen Kerr for Occupational Therapy space; Sue Buitinga for Communication Sciences and Disorders; and Heather McClement for Physical Therapy.   

Please note that there is a $25 deposit per key, refundable when the key is returned.  New GTAs and GRAs will also need their employee number for the requisition form.  Please take the approved requisition form and your student card with you to Room 4150, Support Services Building to pick up your keys.  You will sign the form when you pick up your keys.

CHARGES FOR HRS ACTIVITIES

Fax, printing, courier, phone and other such charges will be covered by the HRS, if authorization for the expense has been granted.

COMMON AREAS AT ELBORN

HRS Student Lounge is located in room 1021 (near Betty's Cafe) complete with couches, a meeting table, drop in carrels and a printing/scanning area. This space is for HRS students only. If you need the passcode please contact Amber. Other unch and study areas in Elborn College are available in Room 1000,  Room 1573 and the corridor en route to the 1100 wing is available.  The cafeteria, Betty’s, is open September 12 to mid-April.  The lounge area outside of the HRS receptionist’s window is for Elborn visitors only.

COMPUTER USE

Wireless internet service is available throughout Elborn College.  The student computing labs are in Rooms 1555 and 1557, Elborn College.  The labs are accessible by student card swipe. The HRS Student Lounge also has a computer, but should only be used for printing and scanning documents.

COURIER PACKAGES

Courier packages addressed to a Health and Rehabilitation Sciences student will be placed in the student  mail office, Room 1002, Elborn College.  Students will first be emailed to the UWO address when the package arrives.

DESK SPACE

Desk space for Health & Rehabilitation Sciences is limited, so it is very important that students who request desk space use it adequately.

New students are to contact their supervisor to see if space will be provided by them. If so, fill out the Desk Space Request form available from Amber and check “desk space NOT required”.  If your supervisor does not have space available for you, fill out the form with the suggested space. Not all students will get desk space, so it is important that you talk to your supervisor first.

Returning students are to complete the form yearly to indicate the same space, new space, or no space required.  This form is due Friday, September 14th, 2012 and is to be submitted to Amber.

MAIL

All mail addressed to a Health and Rehabilitation Sciences students will be placed in the mailbox in the HRS Student Lounge, Room 1021, Elborn College.  Students are to check for their mail on a regular basis. To get the passcode for this area you must contact Amber.

NOTICE BOARD

There is a notice board in the HRS Student Lounge which will used to post important information for the HRS students.  Public presentations and seminars will be posted in the glass case in the front entrance of Elborn College.

OFFICE SUPPLIES/STATIONERY

Students will be responsible for their own office supplies.  Correspondence requiring official HRS letterhead and envelopes for departmental business should be forwarded electronically to the administrative staff for printing.
