Faculty members in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders conduct research on a wide range of topics in areas such as normal and disordered speech production and perception, language disorders, swallowing, hearing by normally hearing and hearing impaired listeners, and the causes and treatment of hearing loss. Speech-Language Pathology faculty laboratories are situated within the School, and Audiology faculty make use of the facilities at the National Centre for Audiology. The School provides research opportunities to students within several fields of the graduate program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The University of Western Ontario, to students in our clinical Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology graduate programs, and to other graduate and undergraduate students at Western in programs such as Health Sciences, Neuroscience, and Engineering.CSD Research
