The CSFM has six goals and conducts research in each of these areas.
The CSFM is the research arm of:
- Department of Family Medicine
- The Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry
- The University of Western Ontario
It is a Senate-approved Centre with an interdisciplinary team of investigators (epidemiology, family medicine, social work and psychology).

The CSFM is spearheading a CIHR Strategic Training Grant in Interdisciplinary Primary Health Care Research referred to as TUTOR-PHC. This exciting opportunity provides on-site and on-line workshops in interdisciplinary theory and process and research methods unique to primary health care.
