The CSFM's focus is on the enhancement of family medicine and primary health care practice which will reflect a partnership of the community and interdisciplinary teams committed to proactive patient-centred care.
The CSFM has six goals and conducts research in each of these areas.
The CSFM is the research arm of:
- Department of Family Medicine
- The Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry
- The University of Western Ontario
It is a Senate-approved Centre with an interdisciplinary team of investigators (epidemiology, family medicine, social work and psychology).

New Training Opportunity
The CSFM is spearheading a new CIHR Strategic Training Grant in Interdisciplinary Primary Health Care Research. This exciting opportunity will provide workshops in interdisciplinary theory and process and research methods unique to primary health care.
