Graduate Students

The following are students whose thesis research projects are, or were, directly conducted using the information gathered through the Prenatal Health Project. Elsewhere on this website, titles of completed MSc and PhD theses are listed under "publications."  Thesis projects are summarized under the appropriate categories in the "research findings" area.  

Current Students:

Catherine Holtz (née Moon) is currently completing her PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the Prenatal Health Project.

Rachel Man is currently completing her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the Prenatal Health Project.

Yu-Hsiang (Jerry) Chen is currently completing his MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics within the Prenatal Health Project.

Former Students:

Erin Macdonald completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2012 and is currently an analyst at the Instutie for Clinical Evaluative Sciences.

Danielle Nash completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2011.  She has been working since then as a research assistant at the London Health Sciences Center. In September 2013, she began a PhD program at McMaster University.

Salwa Akiki completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2011 and is currently an epidemiologist at Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

Su Yuan completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2009.  Subsequently, she completed medical school at the University of Calgary.

Erin Graves completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2009 and is currenlty a data analyst at the Canadian Institute for Health Information.

Brie Yama completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2009.  Subesquently, she completed medical schhool in Chicago and she is currently a pediatrics resident at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

Kristine Sharpe completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2009 and is currently a research assistant at Dalhousie University.

Amrita Roy completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2008 and is currently a MD/PhD student at the University of Calgary.

Lauren Switzer completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2007 and is currently a research manager at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hosptial.

Jessica Sontrop completed her PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2007 and is currently a researcher at London Health Sciences Center.

Shannon Cartier completed her MSc in Epidemiolog and Biostatistics in 2007 and is currently a researcher at OptumInSight Health Economics and Outcomes Research.

Laura Anderson completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2006, followed by a PhD at the University of Toronto.  She is currently an analyst with the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES).

Elizabeth Loney (married name: McNaull) completed her MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in 2004 followed by medical school (Dalhousie) and residency (Memorial University of Newfoundland).  She is currently a family physician in Ontario. 

Jennifer Fowler completed her MSc in Applied Human Nutrition in 2004 and is currently a Registered Dietician in Hamilton.
