Biostatistical Support Unit
Dear Clients of the Biostatistical Support Unit:
After 25 years of service, the Biostatistical Support Unit (BSU) will cease operations on April 30, 2012. The BSU has been a vibrant contributor to a large number of research projects within Western and beyond. Unfortunately, the economic climate of the past few years has resulted in decreased revenues to the unit. The BSU is no longer able to meet its operating obligations and therefore will close at the end of this fiscal year.
If you require quality statistical support services, such as data analysis and study design, Larry Stitt will be continuing to provide this expertise in the private domain. Effective May 1, 2012, Larry can be reached at: LW Stitt Statistical Services, firstname.lastname@example.org, 226.373.2977, www.lwstitt.com. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Larry for his professionalism, dedication, and service. I wish him continued success.
In terms of your data, please be advised that we can destroy any stored data files, return the files to you, or with your written permission, transfer the files to LW Stitt Statistical Services. We have enclosed a form with this letter for you to indicate your preference. Please return this form to Kresge K201 by April 15, 2012. Alternatively, please submit by fax (519.661.3766) or email (email@example.com). If we do not hear from you by April 15, 2012, we will retain your data for one year and then will dispose of it in a secure way.
Finally, I also wish to thank you, as a present or former BSU client for your partnership and support.
Allan Donner, Ph.D, FRSC
