I work in the areas of late medieval English poetry and prose, especially Chaucer, as well as medieval women’s writing, devotional writing, reader response, affect, and anthropological approaches to literature. My recent research looks at the representation of affect and penitence in Chaucer. I am also interested in Biblical language in Chaucer and concepts of value, exchange, and economy in fourteenth-century England.
