In Sun and Shade: A Book of Verse

by Frederick George Scott

DUTY

DUTY, from thy golden wings
God on men His glory flings,
And the harps of God are strung
To the songs which thou hast sung.

Duty, be thou at my side

5
And my errant footsteps guide,
For, if death my portion be,
Death is life when met with thee.
