THE kind reception given to Mr. Scott's former works has seemed to the publishers to justify the issue of the present volume, which contains not only selected poems from his three books of verse, but also those poems written by him since the publication of "The Unnamed Lake." Mr. Scott has not only very carefully and judiciously make choice of the poems which are here published, but he has also revised and corrected them, so that they have now assumed their permanent form.
