Research Interests

Focuses on the continental tectonics and dynamics, particularly the formation and tectonic evolution of the Asian continent, orogenic processes, crust-mantle recycling, and the geochemistry and geochronology of crust- and mantle-derived rocks.

He is now in charge of eight key projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published over 150 research papers and edited several journal special issues for Gondwana Research and Journal of Asian Earth Sciences.

He is recipient of many prestigious honours and awards, including: 1) Scientific Leader of the Innovative Research Group of Continental Tectonics and Dynamics by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (2014), 2) Distinguished Professorship under the “Changjiang Scholar Program” by the Ministry of Education of China (2013), 3) National Outstanding Young Scientist award (2013), 4) National Million Talents Project award (2013)
