Trois-Pistoles was one of the most enriching learning experiences I’ve had. I was astounded to see how much French I could learn in just 5 weeks. Trois-Pistoles’ unique homestay program was definitely a large factor in how much French I learned. The homestay experience allowed me to form friendships with students around the country that I believe will last a long time. The homestays gave the program more of a family atmosphere than an institutional one. It was at Trois-Pistoles that I fell in love with the French language as well as the Québécois culture. It inspired me to continue my French education. I would recommend Trois-Pistoles to anyone who wants an unforgettable French learning experience.

Being a French student in Ontario, it is often difficult to immerse myself in the language. Coming to Trois-Pistoles was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made; the experience was unforgettable! The host families were so gracious and accommodating, and were always willing to help us with whatever we needed. Meeting local students was extremely rewarding and they really helped to improve our French speaking skills. This is most definitely the kind of trip that I would take over and over again. I cannot thank UWO enough for creating and maintaining a program so memorable and life changing.

My time in Trois-Pistoles was an amazing experience! When I first arrived I was really nervous because I knew barely any French, but in no time at all that feeling vanished and I developed a whole new perspective on the language. Every day was a learning experience packed with fun activities from movies to sports, or just watching the sunset with friends. Trois-Pistoles was the start of my French experience, and because of this program I look forward to building and experiencing the French culture for the rest of my life.

Coupled with like-minded people looking for something different and a group of gifted professors and organizers, Trois-Pistoles was a special experience for everyone I talked to.
