THE TROIS-PISTOLES EXPERIENCE
French immersion and the town of Trois-Pistoles are made for each other. At the School, we emphasize an integrated approach to learning. All elements of the program -- the courses, the workshops, the homestay and the socio-cultural activities - reinforce one another and maximize opportunities for participants to hear and speak French and to enrich their cultural experience.
We offer different lengths of programming - five weeks for those seventeen and older (adults are more than welcome) and a one-week intensive program for adults with busy professional and family lives.
During the spring and summer five-week sessions, over 500 participants have the opportunity
to enroll in a degree-credit course from Western's undergraduate curriculum. All are welcome, regardless of previous education as courses are available at all levels.
Students must have attained at least a low-intermediate level in French
in order to participate in our one-week intensive program. Early registration is encouraged as this is a very popular program and space is limited..
NEW FOR 2013 - A 10 day refresher for FSL teachers. This professional development initiative, held in a 100% francophone enviroment at one of the most renowned French immersion schools in Canada, is a great way to upgrade and enhance existing skills.Wether you teach core French or immersion, this program is for you. Different approaches to teaching, various methodologies, classroom activities and the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) are just some of the topics that will be covered. In-service training in our of our French immersion classes is an added bonus.
