What is the Diploma in Accounting?
The Diploma in Accounting is offered by Continuing Studies in partnership with the Faculty of Social Science and the Aubrey Dan Program in Management and Organizational Studies. This program enables graduates to build on the theoretical grounding obtained in their degree programs by adding practical and applied skills required to work in the field of accounting. Graduates of the diploma will have completed the 51 credit-hours prescribed in the Syllabus for Entry to the Chartered Accountancy Profession (Uniform Final Examination / UFE) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO).

Please Note: This is a competitive program with limited enrollment. Meeting the minimum admission criteria does not guarantee admission into the program.
The application deadline is January 15. Applicants who must apply for admission to the University first are encouraged to begin the application process as soon as possible. Application forms are typically available by November.

Classes begin in May for the duration of the Intersession and Summer Day Terms.
When will I know if my application has been accepted?
All decisions regarding admission to the program are communicated in writing. Admission decisions may take approximately 6-8 weeks after receipt of all application documents. Applicants are strongly encouraged to ensure all pieces of both the supplemental application, as well as the OUAC application (where applicable), arrive well before the application deadline. Decisions will not be relayed over the telephone.
How long do I have to complete the program?
The Diploma in Accounting is an intensive program offered during the Intersession and Summer Day Terms. This Diploma Program must be completed within three years from acceptance and may be done on a part-time or full-time basis during the summer.
Is this program eligible for OSAP?
Yes, if you are enrolled as a full-time student in the program, you can apply for OSAP at http://osap.gov.on.ca
I have been working in an Accounting related field for a few years. Do I still need the undergraduate degree-credit courses to apply?
Yes, enrollment in a Bachelor of Managerial and Organizational Studies program with successful completion of MOS 3360a/b and MOS 3361a/b or their equivalent is a prerequisite to apply.
