Labour and management are challenged today to examine their roles and relationships at various levels, and to find ways of remaining successful and working well together in a global workplace where the rules keep changing. Significant and fundamental changes in the economy, the workforce and government legislation are having an impact on labour-management relations world-wide.

Beyond Bargaining is an intensive and interactive 3-day program that responds to these opportunities for change. Participants from both labour and management will explore the strategic development and implementation of new models for joint relationships - beyond the bargaining table. The program challenges participants to look at current and emerging issues, and develop solutions that are designed for their specific circumstances.

  • challenge traditional assumptions and models by examining and considering different perspectives and
  • focus on developing practical skills and tools to build new and joint relationships.

  • developing a shared understanding of key issues and consider these in terms of the trends and issues in the larger global environment
  • deepening their understanding of the communications and change processes
  • developing their skills in initiating and implementing new models for joint relations, joint problem-solving and planning
  • developing the skills to provide leadership in increasing joint activities
  • preparing and presenting a plan for developing and implementing joint activities within their respective organisations
