Application for Course Substitution

Students who have completed courses through an accredited institution may apply for an equivalency by following the process outlined below.

While we recognize that many other courses will overlap significantly in content with the courses offered in this program, Continuing Studies will also be considering the following when evaluating a course for equivalency:

  • Learning objectives
  • Method of evaluation
  • Delivery method
  • Instructional resources used

A course completed somewhere other than Continuing Studies at Western may be accepted towards Principles of Marketing for the Professional Certificate in Marketing. This course must have been completed within the past seven years. No other courses in the Marketing program will be granted an equivalency.

Decisions from Continuing Studies will be communicated to the student via email within two weeks of submitting the substitution form. Completed forms can be faxed 519.661.3799, mailed or delivered to Continuing Studies in person.
