Laboratory Safety

Student at desk Our undergraduate-laboratory experiments are designed to be as safe as possible. Nonetheless, university safety policy requires all faculty, staff, and students to be in the apporpriate laboratory attire:

Full-length lab coat. The short, designer lab coats or pharmacy coats do not offer sufficient protection and cannot be worn in the chemistry lab.
Safety glasses or goggles
Long hair tied back
Long pants (no shorts or skirts)
Socks
Close-toed shoes that completely cover the upper foot, from the anke to the toe. Sandals are not acceptable.
