Please start here for general information about the conference

The conference will comprise 3 days of talks and posters – the focus will be on the bioinorganic chemistry of the porphyrinoids (all rings; all metals; heme proteins), of the metallothioneins, of the Group 11 and 12 metals, of metal-based drugs, of the toxic metals (especially As), and of iron- containing proteins, and other systems of bioinorganic interest.  Symposia will include spectroscopic studies (including mass spectrometry, magnetic circular dichroism, RR, EPR, IR); structural aspects from NMR and XAFS techniques, and theoretical results (especially application of ground state DFT and TD-DFT calculations to metal binding sites in biological systems).

This is a satellite meeting to the Canadian National Chemistry Conference to be held in Quebec City, May, 2013  .

There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion in this beautiful location on the dock in Parry Sound.

Registration fee includes all coffee breaks and lunches, the Welcome Reception and the refreshments at the Poster Session, as well as the Georgian Bay cruise on Thursday afternoon.

We will take advantage of the location on the dock in Parry Sound, with the veranda for coffee breaks opening on to Georgian Bay.

Access: by water to the door of the Stockey Centre    or, more conventionally, from Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ; serviced from around the world) is close to Highway 400 north that ends at Parry Sound (250 kms).  For those going to Hamilton for the 2009 Canadian National Chemistry Conference – there is bus service from Toronto as well as “GO” trains if you start from Downtown Toronto.  For those traveling across the Atlantic or Pacific take advantage of the right to stop-off at a city in addition to your destination by traveling to other Canadian cities before or after your break in Toronto.
