All participants in CCAA courses/workshops must register online with a valid e-mail address, and full name (first and last name as it should appear on the certificate). The e-mail address used to register is the one used to login to CCAA accounts, and that the CCAA uses to communicate information about the training.
Please be sure the email address is entered correctly. The CCAA is not responsible for missing communications as a result of incorrectly entered email addresses. If a supervisor or other colleague has registered a participant using their personal email address, it is email owner's responsibility to notify the registrant of any communication received regarding the training for which the participant is registered. They should also note that they cannot thereafter use that email to register themselves for training with the CCAA.
Lunch is not provided during CCAA training unless otherwise specified. Please bring a bagged lunch or prepare to eat off-site.
Overnight accommodations are not included in registration fees. The CCAA does not coordinate accommodations on behalf of participants. Upon request, the CCAA can provide suggestions for accommodations for training sessions that are offered at the CCAA in London, Ontario.
Parking fees are not included in the registration fee. The CCAA does not reimburse participants for parking expenses.
Training materials will be provided on the first day. The cost of these materials is included in the registration fee. Should the materials become lost or damaged, the participant is responsible for costs associated with replacement.
Cancellation due to low enrollment: Participants registered for CCAA training will be given a minimum of one-week notice about the cancellation of training. If the participant pre-paid, he or she will receive a credit for the full registration fee, or receive a refund.
Cancellation due to inclement weather: Participants will usually receive a minimum of 24-hours’ notice of training cancellation due to poor weather conditions. Decisions related to these cancellations are made based on weather reports prior to the initial day of training. Consideration is given to the travel needs of the trainer and participants. Occasionally, weather conditions deteriorate rapidly less than 24 hours before training is scheduled to begin, therefore training may be cancelled less than 24 hours ahead of time. In the event of a training (or a day of training in a multi-day course) cancelation due to inclement weather, the training will be rescheduled. In the case of a full course cancellation, if registrants are unable to attend on the rescheduled date, and have pre-paid for the training, they will receive a credit for the full registration fee, or receive a full refund. In the case of a day of training in a multi-day course cancellation, if registrants are unable to attend on the rescheduled date other arrangements must be made with the trainer.
Cancellations are communicated by:
Email - This is the primary method of communication between participants and the CCAA. Registrants are responsible for checking their email prior to the course start date/time for notifications of cancellations.
Phone - Only when feasible, CCAA staff will follow up with phone calls about cancellations.
Social Networks - In some cases, cancellations may be posted on the CCAA Facebook page and Twitter feed.
Participants must resign from training through the online system a minimum of 24-hours prior to the course start time to avoid being charged the full course fee. Learn more about the resignation process on the Frequently Asked Questions page. Drop-outs with less than 24-hours’ notice will be charged a $50 administration fee.
Participants who resign from training more than one week prior to the first day of training are entitled to a full refund.
Participants who resign less than one week prior to the course start date will be charged a $50 administration fee. Alternatively, participants may choose to receive a training credit or send a replacement.
Course registrations are transferable; the replacement's name must be provided to the CCAA prior to the first day of training. The orginal participant must resign from the course online and the replacement must register online.
Participants who miss training due to illness, injury or a family emergency will receive a full registration fee credit.
No-shows (participants who miss training without communicating the cancellation with the CCAA) will be charged the full registration fee and are not entitled to a refund.
Missing part of a multi-day course - Participants who unexpectedly miss part of a multi-day course, may attend the missed portion at no additional cost the next time the course is offered by the same trainer (within one year of the original training date). If the participant does not complete the missed portion on time, they will be required to re-take the training at their own expense. It is the responsibility of the participant to register for another course to make up the missed time and contact the CCAA and the course trainer for verification of previous registration and payment. There are NO refunds for partially completed courses. If participants are awarded free CCAA training and are unable to attend the full course, or workshop they are not entitled to attend the course for free at a later date. Free registrations are one-time offers based on individual cases and may not be available for future training.
Missing part of a conference - Refunds are NOT offered for conferences. Replacement attendees are accepted if the CCAA is notified of the change at least 3 days prior to the conference start date. For two-day conferences: if a delegate has registered for two days and is not able to attend both days, they can opt to send ONE replacement. If delegates attend only one day they will not receive a refund for the second day. Two different replacement attendees cannot be sent to fill a delegate’s two-day registration. When two different delegates are sent each be charged the one-day conference rate. If free a conference registration is awarded and the delegate is unable to attend the full event, they are not entitled to attend for free at a later date. Free conference registrations are one-time offers based on individual cases and may not be available for future events.
Communicating a resignation with the CCAA is a 2 step process:
Conference registration payments must be received at least three days prior to the conference start date.
There are no refunds for canceled conference registrations. Delegates may send a replacement if they are not able to attend. A minimum of 3 days prior to the conference start date, the original delegate must resign online and the replacement must register online. The original payment will be applied to the new delegate.
