Canadian Centre for Activity and Agine

25th Anniversary Lecture

Petrella Lecture

This talk will highlight important work from the CCAA that established how physical activity modifies heart health and improves function in older adults. The emerging burden of brain health (cognition and dementia) in an aging Canada will also be discussed, along with current evidence about how physical activity, exercise and brain training can improve brain health alone and in combination.

Dr. Robert Petrella directs the Healthy Aging team at the Lawson Health Research Institute. He is also the Beryl and Richard Ivey Research Chair in Aging, Rehabilitation and Geriatric Care and CIHR Career Investigator in Healthy Lifestyles: Healthy Aging.
