Year 3 & 4 Courses
Selection of Year 3 courses is dependent on the module in which you are registered and/or the module in which you would like to register for Year 4. Selection of Year 4 courses is dependent on the module in which you are registered and the completion of any outstanding graduation requirements (breadth and essay).
Points to consider:
- Refer to the Academic Calendar for the modular requirements, the Course Selection guidelines and the Weighted Averages Chart for the recommended course selection in Year 3. The Weighted Averages Chart specifies the 2000- and 3000-level courses either required or recommended for entry into each Honors Specialization module in the BMSc Program. You might be denied entry to Year 4 of an Honors Specialization module if you are lacking any of the required Foundation or Additional Modular courses. Check with the department before finalizing your Year 3 course selection.
-
Be aware that some 3000-level courses require minimum marks in 2000-level course and/or an average in Year 2.
-
Before selecting Year 3 courses, review the pre-requisites for the 4000-level courses that you plan to take. Identify the courses that have a mark pre-requisite as well.
- Be aware that some 4000-level courses require minimum marks in 3000-level courses as a pre-requisite.
- An Honors degree requires a minimum mark of 60% in all modular courses and a modular average of 70%. It will be noted in the Academic Calendar if any module requires a mark higher than 60% in a modular course.
- Research project courses with the "E" suffix (eg. Physiology 4980E) are worth 1.5 essay credits.
