A post-doctoral position is available for two years with an optional third year at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada research centre in London, Ontario. This position is part of a multidisciplinary network in the field of cellulosic ethanol production.
We will be using molecular and biochemical approaches to examine the expression of heterologous cell wall degrading enzymes in tobacco and to determine the composition and efficacy of enzyme cocktails in cellulose digestion. In addition, biological activity in vitro and efficacy in vivo will be determined.
Candidates are expected to have a strong background in cellular and molecular biology and biochemistry. Experience in chloroplast transformation would be a definite asset.
