Behaviour and Ecology of Bats

Graduate Opportunities

Bats present many opportunities for research. Our laboratory is well equipped to study different aspects of their behaviour and ecology. Our work involves the use of radio-tracking as well as recording, analysing and playing back bats’ vocalizations. Students choose projects that are based in behaviour and ecology with the actual work ranging from conservation-based to communication-based research. Most of our work is done in the field. Morphological features of bats also are promising areas for research, reflecting the diversity of bats and the dearth of our knowledge about them.
