The School at Trois-Pistole is the oldest immersion program of its kind in Canada. Chosen in 1932 by The University of Western Ontario as the ideal location to facilitate the integration of French-language students into a French-speaking community, the lovely town of Trois-Pistoles and its residents have always been vital to the success of this unique educational experience. The Language Learning Centre is available for students to practice their language skills using audio-visual and multi-media resources. The Departments of French Studies and Modern Languages also hold various foreign-film screenings throughout the year. For students learning a new language, viewing foreign films can be a great way to practice language skills as well as to understand and appreciate new cultures.
