Standard Operating Procedures
Standard Operating
Procedures (SOP's) provide a detailed outline of
commonly used research and husbandry procedures. They
have been developed in consultation with experts in
the particular fields and have been approved by the
University Council on Animal Care.
Adherence to SOP's
is mandatory. If SOP's will not be followed, detailed alternate procedures must be documented in the Animal Use Protocol (AUP). These changes will be reviewed by the
Animal Use Subcommittee. It is therefore recommended that
the reasons for any changes in procedure be clearly
outlined.
Below is a list of
commonly used Standard Operating Procedures. Copies that do not have links may be
obtained either through the manager of an animal care
facility or the Department of Animal Care and Veterinary
Services.
