AUS Site Visits

What are site visits and who conducts them

Throughout the year, AUS members accompanied by a University Veterinarian visit all locations that either house or use laboratory animals.  Site visits provide an opportunity for AUS members and researchers to meet and discuss ongoing projects.  These visits also fulfill the requirement of the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) with regard to responsibilities of the Institutional Animal Care Committee.

A report is prepared and submitted to the AUS.  If any deficiencies are noted, procedures are instituted to rectify the situation as required by the Chair of the AUS.

Animal Use Subcommitte Members

Please sign up for site visits in the secure Owl Outreach location. Go to the 'AUS' area and then to 'Site Visit Sign-up Sheets.' This method is more efficient than email and reduces the amount of communication required in order to set up a visit.
