In addition to research and teaching in medical sciences, Dr. Lala is actively involved in many other activities, such as community and social work, public speaking in sciences in the popular media as well as to high school students, exploring the relationship between science and spirituality, and promotion of interfaith dialogues. He has written many popular articles in journals dealing with science and spirituality. He loves Indian classical music, and also plays Indian drums (Tabla).
